Gavatha Beach

To call Gavatha a village would be wrong, there are a handful of houses built by a few families and while they may live there during the summer months they treat the houses more as a summer retreat rather than a year round family home.

Gavatha is built upon a peninsula that shelters the main beach and there are rocky beaches on the other side that are good snorkeling areas when the sea is not too rough.

The beach itself was a huge suprise, very clean, waters were always warm and in general the beach hasn't been spoilt by mass tourism (yet). There is a small harbor full of fishing boats and the long beach with a few trees that offer shade and while there are not too many shops or restaurants those which are there easily meet the needs of the locals.
